Monkey Falls

On the road toward the hills, Monkey Falls is a roadside waterfall that's easy to combine with a Topslip or Valparai trip rather than visiting on its own. Water flow varies a great deal with the season — it's at its fullest during and just after the monsoon, and considerably quieter in the dry months, so it's worth treating this as a bonus stop rather than the main plan.

The Road to Valparai

For travelers with a full day to spare, the drive from the Pollachi side up to Valparai is one of the more memorable stretches of road in the region — a series of hairpin bends climbing through reserve forest, with a real chance of spotting wildlife crossing the road itself. Valparai sits higher and cooler, surrounded by tea estates, and works well as a day trip if you're comfortable with a long drive rather than an overnight.
